Although he didn't call them out by name, this week Sen. Thune rebuked opponents to the current tax deal, including 2012 contenders such as Mitt Romney and Sarah Palin. Referring to these critics, he said "it's easy to stand on the sidelines ... and perhaps it is politically expedient" (to criticize the bill).
